I want to personally thank you for visiting my campaign page to learn more about who I am and how my background makes me uniquely qualified to lead the City of Rochester Hills as a City Councilperson At-Large.

I am running for City Council because I want to ensure that the City of Rochester Hills is a safe and prosperous place to live for us and our families for generations to come. I believe I am the best candidate to represent all residents at-large because I am passionate about Rochester Hills and what it means to you: my neighbors. As a City Councilperson, I will always ensure the best interests of the residents of Rochester Hills are at the forefront of all decisions. I have a proven track record of hard work and I promise you that I will demonstrate this work ethic to serve the residents of Rochester Hills on the City Council. I will scrutinize spending proposals, ensure that your tax dollars are not being wasted, preserve the small-town character of our community, and prevent the overdevelopment of our City.

I was born in Pontiac and grew up in Rochester Hills. I am a lifelong resident of Oakland County and a resident of Rochester Hills for a total of 23 years. My earliest memories are rooted in Rochester Hills, and I want my children to have those same positive experiences. I am happily married to my wife, Kelly, and we are truly fortunate to have two beautiful boys: Jack and Charlie.

It was my experience in Rochester Hills that shaped who I am today. From a young age, I learned the value of volunteerism while involved in the Boy Scouts of America and I earned my Eagle Scout Award in October 2003.

I know the true meaning of hard work. Since my first job as a lifeguard, I have worked tirelessly to ensure a better life for me and my family, while also dedicated to public service and volunteering. I am the product of Rochester Community Schools and proud graduate of Rochester High School. For college, I stayed in Rochester Hills and worked two jobs at the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office and the North Oakland YMCA – I even juggled a third job at the Palace of Auburn Hills for a few months – all while attending Oakland University in the evenings. During my Junior year at Oakland University, I became the Senior Judicial Court Clerk to the Honorable Shalina D. Kumar at the Oakland County Circuit Court, and worked full-time while still attending evening classes to earn a B.S. in Political Science.

From there, I earned my Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law, again while taking evening classes and working full-time. I passed the Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Massachusetts Bar Exams within the same one-year period. During that same year, I also earned an FAA private pilot’s license while working as an attorney at Plunkett Cooney, P.C. I am a Partner at Bowman and Brooke LLP in Bloomfield Hills where I defend various products in litigation, many of which are designed and manufactured by our neighbors here in Rochester Hills and Metro-Detroit.

Thank you for your interest and I hope I can count on your vote. I would be honored to represent you and the City of Rochester Hills.
